A logical fallacy illustrating how stupid mainstream thinkers are

I guess I am surprisingly naive. I discovered no fap, just like fasting on my own. I don't fast much anymore, I just eat well- and enjoy food. Real bread from a good baker, full of butter, good roasts and veggies and steaks I cook, coffee with irish cream. I digress. But I discovered no fap similarly on my own. No fap is never a no sex rule. Get sex! But I once went over a year no fap. Then I didn't care anymore. Now I am doing it again because it is needed. I have a good life actually- I just struggle from two little things- career and romantic relationships. Yeah, not so little things. Otherwise things are going well. So I thought the problem is dopamine. I know it is. So I gave up fapping again and then I just recently gave up netflix and movies and shit. Because of that, one night when I was feeling particularly frustrated, I just banged on the piano and that frustrated energy gave me power to push through and I learned a song (Honor Him from Gladiator with Sheet Music). It gives you a force, but you have to use the force. That's when I realized that netflix videos are just as bad as masturbation for loss of motivation. Even though I just started the show Lucifer. Oh well. I did watch a movie last night but I made an exception- Zorba the Greek as I'd been meaning to watch it for so long. I recommend it. It's slower paced too like they used to. More art than anything.
Anyway you gotta earn dopamine. So this morning, I duckduckgo'd masturbation and dopamine, because I wanted to see how the two interrelate. I found two pro-masturbation articles and part of the reason they are for it is because it releases 'feel good hormones' like dopamine.
That' s funny because that's exactly the reason I don't want to do it. I want earned dopamine. Dude I am just amazed they don't see an issue like this, unless they want to keep us in bondage like Ellsworth Toohey. Drugs, heroine give you dopamine. Being given it so wrongly, it means you associate reward with nothing positive, no hard work or accomplishment. It also floods your brain I imagine, which can reduce the number of receptors and normal level of it, just like steroids shrink your balls. I am just amazed at the lack of logic they demonstrate in professional journals. Not that my idea is certainly right but they just go with it willy nilly. Sugar gives you dopamine I think. Should you just feed your kid sugar? I would have left a comment but they don't allow them. I just want to express how illogical this is to anyone with a tiny bit of critical thinking skills in the current year.

But there are many things that give you fake dopamine. Posting stuff in reddit when you could be doing applications. They're so boring though and so demoralizing. That's the thing though- I think exactly the more boring something is and tedious yet still necessary for success, the more you need to be sensitive to small successes in the form of dopamine drop. It's for the little things and boring things. Just checking your phone and text messages is a dopamine thing, that is ill placed, so give up that. I didn't even have a smart phone until 2015 btw. I thought naively that it was a luxury, but in the modern world to do business and stuff it's really not, and I love it as a tool. I just want to be strong enough to wield it like Tom Bombadil without being turned, and I think I can. I love phones and technology is my new career, and I do love it, as the master of it not the servant. But phones are a source of bad dopamine drip. Some call it (over)stimulation. The littler of a reward something gives in the short run, like learning a language (Deutsch), a little dopamine word for word- the more important it is to not be over-saturated in it. So they think masturbation gives you this "feel good" hormone. Are you seriously serious, for serious? These are grown adults and influencers!
Ok, they also say masturbation can help you with self esteem. Actually I find the opposite. I have higher SE than ever. However, it's not a lie to say sometimes my optimism or self efficacy is lower. My courage is alright in my own personal opinion but 'confidence' that things will be good is not always the highest. To me, to an INTP who is a logical type, being confident is not as important as getting other key people (employers, friends, potential lovers) to be confident in you. If people are confident in you, they will invest in you and help you. That's more important than how confident you are. I know of emotional contagion, so it's important to be self confident to inspire trust in others. That's for sure absolutely true and I know you need self confidence. I'm just saying I'd trade my own self confidence any day for others having confidence in me if I could keep my self esteem and my level of courage. Confidence is oberflachlich. Superficial, sometimes I think. When it comes to emotional contagion, giving other people your emotions just because you feel them strongly, is not something that I naturally understood. I deal with anger and frustration issues more and not really anxiety, not immediately. Not social anxiety. I guess a lot of people deal with that, and they are also good at hiding it. I'm not good at mind reading. And if someone feels a state- I'm still human, so it can transfer to me, absolutely but it often is that it doesn't, that I am strong in my frame, as an INTP and I gather the facts and think about how I should logically feel. I am emotional too but it's not a simple contagion thing, so I think that made me oblivious to how most people are.
Why would self esteem change upon masturbation? It neither raises or lowers it directly. However it lowers it indirectly because it means I accomplish less, and it's accomplishments and growth that drive self esteem.
I don't think people know what they're talking about. If I had a good career and family, I might be fine with masturbation. It's when you have to get to where you're not that you need to employ means. Do you know when the best time to do Heroine is? When you don't need to. When you just sold your business you worked years to create. When you accomplished something and you're on a natural high. Because then you're already high on feel good hormones- and don't need the heroine. Also then your neurons don't associate heroine with bad feelings, being a bum and losing willpower. Otherwise it associates loss of willpower with the sudden spike in dopamine or whatever. That's not the association you want your brain to be making. Someone on Joe Rogan gave me this knowledge. I think they were talking about cigarettes though. But the best time to do heroine is when you don't need to. I am sure for the same reasons it's the same with jerking off.
I have noticed my skin become more sensitive and sensual. Actually it's almost like the neurons are more alive there. It's hard to describe but maybe you all have experienced it too.

I have major needs in life- a major need to learn to focus so I can meet these needs of career dev and relationships- two things which follow completely different rule sets. I need to focus and build momentum and it might be the things that require the most focus are the things that you need the most sensitivity to dopamine release, so I can't understand in a billion years how these writers could be so obtuse (andy dufraine echoing) on this subject. But there are other dopamine traps. Let's call 'em dopamine traps. There are others. Netflix, smart phone reaching for. Just reaching for it already signals things in the brain, or holding it up to your face, even if you don't turn it on. How did that arise? There must have been some things that reinforced it. gave you reward. Text messages from honies. Maybe it's just the colors and lights that make us neotonous. Men wear brown and black and not as many colors. We live in a color saturated artificial world and we live in a picture saturated world. These things too can be dopaminergic. I don't mean to be a spartan or overly spartan or overly austere. I just want myself and people to have their ideal amount of natural dopamine motivation and not feel shorted. It's like an electric short circuit. That's often a metaphor I used. Life and success puts enough challenges in our way- the fact that there's so much to learn and only so many hours in the day. The last thing we need is to lose momentum and focus by losing a sense of having been rewarded for making little gains or and seeing our efforts rewarded. I didn't think much about reward as a kid. The older I get, the more I see reward everywhere in life, in psychology and how it is crucial. That word is overused. CS Lewis also talked about how overusing words dilutes their value, much like dopamine, or dilutes the value of the system, but what else is there to motivate besides reward and punishment? It's still the same old story, reward and punishment. Be a sensualist all you want, but don't masturbate yourself to stupor, whether it's too much watching of other people do stuff on a rectangle display or whether it's always checking your messages and inbox or whatever it is. If you reward when it's unearned, you're going to train yourself to not earn stuff. But what happens then is you're not surrounded by the fruits of that success-- and that's why it's not sustainable. When I finally created a song I wrote on soundcloud, which took weeks, I felt good for long after. I still have a smile about it. In the moment I could have got as much dopamine from jerking off but it would fade faster. It's a question of what fades and depreciates and what appreciates. Delayed gratification. No fap, and no dopamine trap is another way of saying delay gratification, and only get it from good positive sources- i.e. natural sources based on accomplishment in life. At this point I have said enough and anything more might be procrastination. It is hard. It is a mountain to climb and where to start? But I need to hit the hard high steep path. It is a hard high very steep path in so many respects. Professional career is super intimidating. I kinda know what I need to do but my mind blocks off it and gets overwhelmed/shut down, so the first step is recognizing that and the second step is preparing for the climb and setting up a state where only natural dopamine is allowed in your life. This is scary and hard, but I like fear, when it really hits me. When it washes over me completely, I like fear. When it hounds me from afar, then I hate fear. It's up to me to approach what I fear and dread. It is hard because I feel these feelings in the body and gut, these hormone storms. I know I am rational. I know in these regards, personally how hormones affect mood, I know as good or better than most trained psychologists. I've been to many. They are just well read ordinary people. Learn more from Zorba the Greek or Osho or even Mick Jagger who I've grown to like more. But when scary hard paths are also necessary paths, you don't really have a choice unless you want to stay a bum. I have been a bum in large parts of my life. Not on purpose and due to lack of guidance, but a bum for sure. I still am a bum in many ways, manifest too much bumness and I don't want to. Masturbation and netflix will keep you on that path, it is the direct route to being a bum. We have the tools to not be bums. It is in us. All we have to do is less. Less is more. More is less. I was doing more and getting less. It is a paradox. The paradox of more is less. Other issues too but that for sure. Answers aren't solved right away, sofort. I can't do everything right, right now and hope to be rewarded, although my good bread and cold brew coffee and irish cream and roast is quite a reward! Career wise and everything though it is a process. That is why you need dopamine sensitivity along the way, in stages. What the romans may have called Milestones. The Milestone method. The milestone mindset. The milestone mentality. What da ya think? So for that you need dopamine sensitivity. When I didn't masturbate the first time, for over a year, I didn't know what gave me the effects. I thought it could be an elusive 'energy', but I also thought of an elusive hormone reward system. Now I think it is that, primarily and predominantly. I think it is predominantly the hormones, such as dopamine. That will fuck you up. If you're happy with your life, then there's nothing wrong with it I suppose. It's when you need more sensitivity that you need no fap. No fap but also no judgment.

MAME 0.222

MAME 0.222

MAME 0.222, the product of our May/June development cycle, is ready today, and it’s a very exciting release. There are lots of bug fixes, including some long-standing issues with classics like Bosconian and Gaplus, and missing pan/zoom effects in games on Seta hardware. Two more Nintendo LCD games are supported: the Panorama Screen version of Popeye, and the two-player Donkey Kong 3 Micro Vs. System. New versions of supported games include a review copy of DonPachi that allows the game to be paused for photography, and a version of the adult Qix game Gals Panic for the Taiwanese market.
Other advancements on the arcade side include audio circuitry emulation for 280-ZZZAP, and protection microcontroller emulation for Kick and Run and Captain Silver.
The GRiD Compass series were possibly the first rugged computers in the clamshell form factor, possibly best known for their use on NASA space shuttle missions in the 1980s. The initial model, the Compass 1101, is now usable in MAME. There are lots of improvements to the Tandy Color Computer drivers in this release, with better cartridge support being a theme. Acorn BBC series drivers now support Solidisk file system ROMs. Writing to IMD floppy images (popular for CP/M computers) is now supported, and a critical bug affecting writes to HFE disk images has been fixed. Software list additions include a collection of CDs for the SGI MIPS workstations.
There are several updates to Apple II emulation this month, including support for several accelerators, a new IWM floppy controller core, and support for using two memory cards simultaneously on the CFFA2. As usual, we’ve added the latest original software dumps and clean cracks to the software lists, including lots of educational titles.
Finally, the memory system has been optimised, yielding performance improvements in all emulated systems, you no longer need to avoid non-ASCII characters in paths when using the chdman tool, and jedutil supports more devices.
There were too many HyperScan RFID cards added to the software list to itemise them all here. You can read about all the updates in the whatsnew.txt file, or get the source and 64-bit Windows binary packages from the download page.
